Some of you may have noticed that the site was a mess for a bit today. That is due to some ass hat getting his jolly's by hacking into the site and having fun in the admin panel.
He deleted all the posts, topics and forum categories from the forest. I have uploaded the most recent backup I could find so we are back to 90% where we were before today. Unfortunately it is from mid to late July so yes, we are still short a few posts. I apologize for not having a more recent backup. Willow and I were sans internet for a few weeks from mid August to September 7th due to finances ( oops) and I missed my scheduled backup for that time
If you have posted anything since July that you would not mind reposting Please do so. Also...
Please remember to NEVER share your account info with anyone. Use a unique password for the forest and keep it in a secure spot. This attack was by someone who got an admins account info and used their account to get their rocks off with. I have changed the password for that account so if that admin is reading this ( and you will know it's you because you can't login right now.. sorry ) send me an email and I will let you know your new password after I am sure it is you and not the child who stole your info.
Again, sorry for the retrograde in the forums as far as posts go. Everything else appears intact and if you guys have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Blessings
Kelisia

*cries* I really don't understand how people find pleasure in doing this.
We should just be lucky it's repairable.
Thanks Kel. I hope the person that did it feels silly now for wasting his time. Karma will get em back.

Such a chicken poo thing to do, I'm ssssooo impressed with them (NOT).
Though I think it may be a sign that I need to get interactive again here soon that no posts were lost in my group. *lol*
Sorry that you had to deal with that crap, Kel. You know we love ya and appreciate it though!

I am so sorry about what the morons did...but at least you great folks were able to save as much as you did. You did a great job and I am sure no one blames you for any lost of posts. You are loved!

I dunno what to say that would be, uh, appropriate. ~coughs~ but I am very impressed with how everything was taken care of. You guys did a great job and should be commended muchly for your work. Thank you for being so expedient as far as restoring the community!

Thanks! I have a tendency to change my sig (and avatar) often, but I love that song too and I just thought it'd be nice to use.
I forgot to ask this when I posted, but is the site essentially restored, or is there still work to be done? Just curious.

A password which is an Alpha Numeric Combination (upper and lowercase) and also add a couple of extra Characters such as {}[])(*&^%$£"! etc will make it much harder to guess your passwords, or for an attacker to crack the passwords with software (if they get hold of the Hash version from a websites database. I am assuming they didn't get a copy of the user database in this case and just went on a rampage. I've changed my password just in case though.
Something else that can lead to your password becoming known or able to be changed by someone else are those Quizes and meme things asking about your fav colour, your pets name your first crush etc etc. Al the questions will help any one with malicious intent to gather information about you and help them to guess your passwords. If you think about it most email accounts have a 'secret Question' for resetting passwords and they are along the same lines as those meme questions, so you could well have given an attacker/script kiddie (I won't call em Hackers because they are not Hackers, but that's for a different discussion) the info they need.
Glad you got the site back up and running again Kel.

It's fantastic to see you back Midori!! Don't worry, these things happen. Luckily we have Kel and Willow about to fix it.
Herne is right tho - and this is to everyone - always be wary of those quizzes. They can lead to a give away of too much personal information.
