Target : Canterbury Tue Mar 13, 2007 1:02 pm [ Mood: Loved ][ Currently: Listening to Snow Patrol ]Hey hey hey hey hey everyone! Hope you've all had a really fantastic time scince I had a chance to speak to you all. My trip to Kent was absolutely wonderful. Fox eventually found out on wednesday she'd been succesful and got the pub - A whole 5 days late! How on earth she coped with that I have no idea, I thought it was bad enough and it wasn't really me that was waiting! Well, while I was there we mostly just hung out at the pub while she was working - but we managed to get out and about on her days off. We went to this amazing animal place called Wildwood. Basically it's a pretty big stretch of woodland with all these good sized animal enclosures in it, and the idea is they only have animals that are or have been native to the Brittish Isles. We saw; Wolves, Lynx, Foxes, Arctic Foxes, Owls, Polecats, Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Wild Boar, Otters, Storks, erm - loads. Here's a selection of some of the photo's I managed to take:
Oh yes, and here's the link to Wildwood's website [LINK] After that we went to Herne Bay (because it had a cool name). It's one of those rather sad seaside resorts that used to be pretty big in the 1920's and 1930's but has kind of died a death these days. There's a huge offshore windafarm there now - but we couldn't get a boat trip out to it because they don't run off season. Here's a picture - you might just be able to see the wind trubines.
Other than that I met Fox's parents, and a few of her friends, and workmates, and luckily I think I got the thumbs up all round! Hurrah! We also went round Canterbury just looking at the shops, and the new pub Fox is going to be running, and we'll be living in. (Still don't quite believe she's mad enough to want me to live with her - but there you go!). So, we'll be living together in about a month (Really gushy soppy warning! if you don't like sop - skip to the next bit!) I can't believe I've found her really - or she found me. And then to want me to go live with her. It's so strange.... there's so many little details that kinda fell into place... so many little coincidences with sorting stuff out thats more than just coincidence. Add to that she's most certainly the most amazing humman being I've ever met... it's unbelievable. I hope I can keep her happy! Anyways, so we drove back yesterday - was a really beautiful day. reached a high of 19 c in Norwich, which, whilst nice was a bit worrying, the highest temperature this month reached last year around these parts was 3 c. Fox left this morning and I went back to work - we're planting loads of trees round a defunct quarry that they've filled with water and has been reborn as a nature reserve..... there were thousands of frogs everywhere! It's also really funny, as my boss is scared of them!
Anyways - thats enough from me for now. Hope your all happy healthy and bouncy! Peace out! Spiral |

those pictures are gorgeous! i bet it's even nicer in person, but it makes me feel not so far away when i see the pics. if you really like those old-time resorts, there is one in the US that is rather old, but very beautiful, especially if you love nature. if you ever skip across the pond, it's in Arkansas i think. it's called Queen Wilhemina State Park and they have a lodge at the very top of one of the mountains. http://www.queenwilhelmina.com/ that's the link for it...

Great pics! Too bad you couldn't get over to the wind turbines...but it's kind of cool to see them in the distance. It gives a nice effect.
